My Journey into Portrait Photography
Portrait photography has been a part of my life since 2007, when a friend invited me to help photograph a wedding. That experience changed everything. With a quick lesson on manual settings and exposure, I unlocked a new world of possibilities. What started as a single event soon became a lifelong passion.
The Evolution of My Portrait Photography
I dove deep into composite photography with a focus on portraits, refining my skills and experimenting with Photoshop and Lightroom. When I moved to Florida, I took my camera everywhere, capturing moments with friends at FullSail University and gradually building a portfolio.
Weddings became my focus for a time, and during one season alone, I photographed 15 weddings across Orlando and Tampa. The joy of capturing raw, emotional moments and perfecting images through editing became an obsession. There was no greater feeling than showing a client their final images and seeing the love and gratitude in their eyes.

Why Portrait Photography?
As I continued my journey, I realized my true passion lay in portrait photography—capturing people as they are, in their most authentic moments. When I moved to Christiansburg, I began working with VCOM medical students, providing professional headshots for their ERAS applications. From there, my love for portrait photography expanded into all areas, including:
- Family Portraits – Capturing timeless memories for families in Chesterfield and Richmond.
- Couple Portraits – Freezing love in a frame, from engagements to anniversaries.
- Professional Portraits – Helping individuals express who they are through polished, professional images.
